In August 2025, Xinhui District Agriculture and Rural Bureau announced the list of the first and second batches of "Xinhui Mandarin (Tangerine Peel) Manors", with 18 enterprises selected. These manors are no longer traditional planting bases or processing factories, but industrial complexes integrating germplasm protection, technological R&D, intensive processing, and cultural and tourism experiences, connecting the entire industrial chain of planting, processing and cultural tourism.
In terms of seed industry protection, the Xinhui Mandarin (Tangerine Peel) Seed Industry Science and Technology Manor has established a germplasm resource protection center and a high-quality seedling breeding center, collecting and preserving 99 superior plants of 5 strains of Xinhui mandarin, and cultivating 200,000 high-quality disease-free seedlings in 2025 to ensure the healthy development of the industry.
In terms of industrial extension, Xinhui enterprises have realized the comprehensive utilization of tangerine fruits. Xinbaotang, a leading enterprise, has built 3 tangerine pulp processing production lines, with a daily processing capacity of 750 tons, developing products such as concentrated tangerine juice, NFC fresh juice and tangerine peel enzyme, which not only solves the problem of waste disposal but also increases the added value of the industry.
In terms of cultural and tourism integration, Ligong Tangerine Peel Manor has created a mountainous ecological planting model, connecting characteristic tourist routes, integrating knowledge of tangerine planting, picking experience and tangerine peel drying and aging processes, allowing tourists to experience the unique charm of tangerine peel culture immersive.
